This rare & unusual antique map, illustrates street names, buildings and the surround in intricate detail of the Town of Brookhaven including Stony Brook, Setauket, Port Jefferson. and Miller Place to name a few from 1879.
Each is individually hand-embellished with oil paints, and rests on raw linen. The "piuma di ulivo" veneer, collected from olive trees in Greece is carefully applied by Florentine craftsman to each frame, and finished with soft beeswax. With acid-free framing materials, framed dimensions are 17"x 20."
