A quiet garden behind palace walls. Plum blossoms in porcelain pots. Bamboo bending in the wind. The turning of the seasons marked not by clocks, but by petals and patience. This tray gathers a tableau of Imperial Mahjong tiles—floral emblems, scholars, creatures and symbols—each one a small meditation on fortune, resilience, and grace.
Handcrafted in our New York studio in the French tradition of decoupage, the artwork is laid in reverse beneath glass so every brushstroke and softened patina glows with depth. The bent-glass form gives the piece weight and presence, while each tray is individually signed by Ben—an heirloom in the making.
Food-safe and wipe-clean with a felted back, it moves effortlessly from game night to gallery wall—serving tea beside delicate sweets, holding correspondence on a desk, or standing upright like a framed treasure from a collector’s cabinet. Each piece arrives with a folded card describing the time-honored craft. A gift for Mahjong devotees, garden romantics, and anyone who believes beauty and luck are meant to be shared.
