This golden crown was lifted from a 17th-century postcard found in a box of British ephemera, its edges worn soft from pockets and parades, whispering of kings, queens, and the sparkle of a thousand tiaras. Part talisman, part toast to the United Kingdom, it winks at anyone with a soft spot for royalty and pageantry.
Each coaster is handcrafted in our New York studio in the French découpage tradition, the artwork applied in reverse to the underside, paper and glass joined with varnish, then trimmed and burnished so the surface stays smooth and luminous. The round form measures 4 inches across, a subtle raised rim keeps wayward drops in check, and the felted back lands softly on marble, wood, or lacquer.
