Pansies tumble across the glass in velvet purples and sunlit golds, each blossom rendered with the charming, slightly unusual eye that runs through all of Ben's work. Beneath bent glass the petals gain a painterly depth, as if pressed from a garden and saved for the table.
Handcrafted in our New York studio in the French tradition of decoupage, the illustration is laid in reverse beneath the bent glass and individually signed by Ben. Both practical and lovely, the piece is food safe, wipes clean, and is finished with a felted back. It hangs beautifully with a plate hanger or stands on a gallery easel, and a folded card explaining the time-honored decoupage process accompanies each one.
Set it by the bedside for rings and earrings, or let it hold sweets on a console where the color can do its quiet work.
